9/15/2013 Lesson Feedback

Hi Passage Staff,

Please go to the sidebar <<<< and rate today's lesson.
You may also give comments below this entry in the comment box.

My objectives today:
a) Give historical background and context. As I prepared, David is introduced against the background of Saul. I thus believed it was necessary to give the information of Samuel and Saul, the two other figures who are significant in the biography of pre-king David.

b) Focus on three familiar and primary verses/passages
1) 1 Samuel 13:14 "Man after God's own heart"
2) 1 Samuel 15:22-23: Obedience over sacrifices
3) 1 Samuel 16:7: Man looks at outward aspects, God looks at the heart (I didn't get to this point).

c) Known teaching challenges/problems:
1) time management
2) The interpretation and application of 1 Sam 13:14 could have been more "clean" and concise.

Thanks for the feedback. I welcome the advice.

I'll be teaching again this Sunday, Sept 22, and will finish the first section (1 Sam 16:1-14), and hope to get through David ministering to Saul.

I have a feeling attendance will drop this coming Sunday, Sept 22, since some UC's have move-in weekend.

Have a great week!
